Would you like to take part in further vocational training and improve your chances on the job market? With a Bildungsgutschein or Aktivierungs- und Vermittlungsgutschein from Agentur für Arbeit, you can have up to 100% of your further training costs financed.
What is an Bildungsgutschein?
An Bildungsgutschein from Agentur für Arbeit is a written assurance that the costs of your further training will be covered. With an Bildungsgutschein you have access to publicly funded further education measures in Germany.
Who can apply for an Bildungsgutschein?
You can apply for an Bildungsgutschein from the employment office if one of the following applies to you

You are unemployed or looking for work

You are at risk of unemployment (e.g. due to short-time working or a fixed-term contract)

You would like to return to work after a career break
-
You need a qualification to secure your current job
There is no fundamental legal entitlement to a Bildungsgutschein, as the decision is at the discretion of the employment agency. The Agentur für Arbeit will check whether further training will improve your chances on the job market. This also includes a personal consultation to discuss your career goals and market opportunities. The training provider and the further training must be AZAV-certified in order to be eligible for funding. You can find more information here.

Instructions for applying for a Bildungsgutscheins

Contact Agentur für Arbeit: Register online with your local Agentur für Arbeit or job center. You will be invited to a consultation within four weeks.

Get advice: During the consultation, your training plans and the requirements for Bildungsgutschein will be reviewed. Prepare yourself well by clearly explaining your professional situation, your chances on the job market and your professional goals. It is also best to bring along documents relating to your previous applications.

Select suitable further training: Choose an AZAV-certified further training course, e.g. in the Kursnet further training database, on my NOW, on the alfatraining website or in a direct conversation with our further training advisors.
