What is a Bildungsgutschein?

With an Bildungsgutschein you have the opportunity to take part in further vocational training free of charge at alfatraining. The costs for your further training are borne by the respective funding agency. You can request a Bildungsgutschein from your funding agency if you are looking for work, are on short-time work or your employment contract is about to expire. You can always contact your Agentur für Arbeit or the job center in your city for non-binding advice on whether funding is possible.

Subsidized further training only at AZAV-certified further training companies

You can only redeem your Bildungsgutschein voucher with certified providers. The entire range of courses offered by alfatraining is AZAV-approved and can be funded with Bildungsgutschein. This means that your training is free of charge. We recommend that you redeem your Bildungsgutschein as soon as possible, as Bildungsgutschein is only valid for a limited period of time.

Subsidized further training

Would you like to take part in further vocational training and improve your chances on the job market? With one Bildungsgutschein or Aktivierungs- und Vermittlungsgutschein from Agentur für Arbeit, you can have up to 100% of your further training costs financed.

Free of charge for you

A Bildungsgutschein from Agentur für Arbeit is a written assurance that the costs of your further training will be covered. With an Bildungsgutschein you have access to publicly funded further education measures in Germany.

Who can apply for Bildungsgutschein?

You can apply for an Bildungsgutschein at the employment office if you are looking for work or are at risk of unemployment (e.g. due to short-time working or a fixed-term contract), if you would like to return to work after a career break or if you need a qualification to secure your current job. During a personal interview, Agentur für Arbeit will check whether further training will improve your chances on the job market. The assumption of costs through funding (e.g. Bildungsgutschein according to § 81 SGB III) is always dependent on individual approval by the responsible Agentur für Arbeit and requires certain conditions according to the law; in particular, it may only be available to people from abroad if they have a suitable residence status and the other eligibility requirements and is therefore not automatically available to everyone.

What costs are covered?

Course and seminar fees, learning materials, work clothing and examination fees
Travel and accommodation costs
Childcare costs during further training
Certain contributions to health, pension, long-term care and accident insurance

The exact amount of funding will be clarified in consultation with your Agentur für Arbeit.

Further funding opportunities

You can also have your further training funded via Deutsche Rentenversicherung (DRV), via regional funding programs or via a transfer company (e.g. with the Europäischen Sozialfonds ESF). As a regular soldier, you have the option of attending further training courses via Berufsförderungsdienst (BFD). Companies can also provide their employees with further training via Qualifizierungschancengesetz .
