Construction Project Manager

This course provides comprehensive knowledge for the planning, management, and supervision of construction projects: it covers the fundamentals of construction project management, project controlling, schedule and cost management, risk management, as well as the responsibilities and interfaces of the various project stakeholders. Another focus is on construction and construction contract law, key provisions of the German Civil Code (BGB) and the General Terms and Conditions for Construction Contracts (VOB), as well as on procurement, contract drafting, and handling disruptions to the construction schedule. The course also covers the essential principles of the HOAI and its significance for the planning and billing of construction services, as well as in-depth knowledge of cost estimation in accordance with DIN 276 and the use of modern AVA solutions for bidding, awarding contracts, and billing.

After the course, you will not only be familiar with the basics of project management and project controlling, but also know the roles, tasks and interfaces as well as the most important regulations, standards and methods of construction project management in order to carry out timely and error-free construction project planning and support.

You are also familiar with the key provisions of construction contract law, the essential general topics in construction law, and the relevant legal regulations, and you can apply them with confidence.

After this course, you will also have an overview of the cost statements along the service phases (1-9) and have knowledge of cost determination according to DIN 276, the current HOAI and software-supported AVA (tendering, awarding and invoicing) of construction services with the programs Orca and SIRADOS.

This course is aimed at people with a degree in architecture and (civil) engineering as well as (building) technicians and specialists from related sectors with relevant professional experience. The course is also aimed at building owners and people working in project management.

Professionals with expertise in construction law and construction contract law are needed to prepare qualified building permit applications, develop and implement marketable land-use and development concepts, and oversee construction projects. Potential future employers include architecture and engineering firms, as well as various companies in the construction industry. This course may be recognized as continuing education by the state chambers of architects (BE, BB, BW, HE, NRW, RP) upon request. Please contact us before the course begins.

Didactic concept

Your lecturers are highly qualified both professionally and didactically and will teach you from the first to the last day (no self-study system).

You will learn in effective small groups. The courses usually consist of 6 to 25 participants. The general lessons are supplemented by numerous practical exercises in all course modules. The practice phase is an important part of the course, as it is during this time that you process what you have just learned and gain confidence and routine in its application. The final section of the course involves a project, a case study or a final exam.

The entire course can see each other face-to-face via alfaview®, communicate with each other in lip-sync voice quality and work on joint projects. Of course, you can also see and talk to your connected trainers live at any time and you will be taught by your lecturers in real time for the entire duration of the course. The lessons are not e-learning, but real live face-to-face lessons via video technology.

 

The courses at alfatraining are funded by Agentur für Arbeit and are certified in accordance with the AZAV approval regulation. When submitting a Bildungsgutscheinor Aktivierungs- und Vermittlungsgutschein, the entire course costs are usually covered by your funding body.
