AVGS-Voucher: How the funding for your further training works
The Aktivierungs- und Vermittlungsgutschein (short: AVGS) is a support measure from Agentur für Arbeit or the Jobcenter. It enables you to take advantage of vocational activation measures free of charge.
Who can get an AVGS?
In principle, the following people can receive an AVGS:
- you are registered as a jobseeker or unemployed
- you receive citizen's allowance or unemployment benefit
- you are at risk of unemployment (e.g. due to redundancy)
- you would like to return to work (e.g. after parental leave)
Important: This is a discretionary benefit, i.e. your placement officer decides on approval on a case-by-case basis.
How to apply AVGS
1. make an appointment at the job center or at Agentur für Arbeit
2. name the desired measure
3. apply in writing to AVGS
4. after approval: Redeem the voucher e.g. at alfatraining and start the measure
Prepare yourself well for the interview - explain why you need support and how further training would specifically help you.
Which providers are approved?
Make sure that the provider is AZAV-certified. Only then can you redeem the AVGS. Certified providers include, for example, alfatraining.
Tip: Ask your counselor today for a AVGS or find out more directly from certified providers such as alfatraining.
